Elgin Housing Project
Practice Responsibilities
Civil & Structural Engineering
A.F Cruden were involved in the infrastructure design for 280
houses at Elgin and Lossiemouth for the Defence Housing Executive.
The project also involved flood attenuation in the Spey Burn which drains the
surrounding area to the Spynie Loch, which is a site of "Special Scientific
interest".

Practice Responsibilities
Civil Engineering Design
The Practice has provided the heavy civil engineering design for
the major reclaim tunnels, the reinforced concrete and rock bin retaining walls
at Foster Yeoman's quarry development at Glensanda.

Civil & Structural Engineering Services
This sizeable steel framed structure with modern curved lines
has greatly extended the facilities of an ageing existing building by providing
a multipurpose hall with changing rooms, plus additional meeting rooms and toilet
facilities, all linked to the original upgraded community centre.
Structural works included a reinforced concrete basement and
lift pit, steel framed superstructure with composite reinforced concrete upper
floors, and associated drainage/earthworks.
